Job Title:	PROBATION OFFICER
Department:	Department of Social Welfare
Salary:	D 27, 475 per annum - Grade 6 of the Integrated pay scale
Duties:	The successful applicant will: - Visit Police Stations to take referrals on Juvenile cases and attend police interviews with child offenders and negotiate with police, complainants and parents for possible release and reintegration of young offenders; - Conduct skills training and counseling sessions for Juvenile Offenders; - Act as Liaison Officer between children under detention and their families; - Investigate and assess Juvenile cases to prepare social inquiry reports for the children’s court; - Collaborate with Government Institutions, NGOs, Skills Training Institutions; Faith Based Organizations, the Private Sector and the general public for the provision of support and rehabilitation services for offenders; - Assist in reintegrating offenders into schools or skills training centres after their release; - Supervise young offenders under supervision order and write progressive reports for the court accordingly; - Attend the Children’s Courts and advise the Court as necessary, on cases of child offenders. - Undertake any other duties assigned by his/her superiors.
Personal Specification:	-
Qualifications:	Applicants should possess: 2 (two) A’ level passes with a Diploma in Social Work or Youth Justice or Law, plus 3 (three) years of working experience with youths.
