Job Title: Senior Translator / Interpreter
Department: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation & Gambians Abroad
Salary: D48, 830 per annum - Grade 9 of the Government Integrated Pay Scale
Qualifications: QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Candidate should be bilingual, with either a Master’s Degree in English or French,

- A minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in translating and interpreting in public or private sector environment.

- A professional qualification in translating and interpreting will be an advantage.

- Good Knowledge in computer applications and excellent communication skills is required.

- Knowledge in consecutive and simultaneous interpretation is essential.
Duties: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To execute translation and interpretation assignments as directed by the Permanent Secretary.
Personal Specification: - Be able to complete assignments on time and produce high quality outputs.

- Be willing to work after normal working hours.
Closing Date: 2nd July, 2010 at 3.30 pm.
Note: This position is available at the Translation and Interpretation Division of the afore-mentioned Ministry and the successful applicant will report to the Head of Translation and Interpretation Division.
